University of Burgos welcomes Castilla y León delegation and presents MANiBOT developments
On 2 December 2025, the Councillor for Industry, Commerce and Employment of Castilla y León, Leticia García Sánchez, visited the Robotics Laboratory at the University of Burgos (UBU) to learn more about the lab’s current research and technology development activities.
During the visit, the UBU team presented the laboratory’s industrial robotics capabilities; including AMRs/AGVs and collaborative robots, as well as work that integrates AI and 5G-enabled connectivity for advanced industrial applications. A dedicated part of the visit focused on MANiBOT, with an overview of how the project is progressing and how its results connect to real operational needs.
To support the discussion, the team showed a short demo based on predefined robot trajectories representing actions linked to MANiBOT’s two main use-case contexts: supermarket and airport scenarios. This provided a clear, practical illustration of how the project’s developments translate into robotic behaviours relevant to complex, human-shared environments.
The visit also highlighted the University of Burgos’ contribution to MANiBOT, including the development of the mobile robotic platform, parts of the ROS2-based control for the ABB GoFa 12 robots and the ABB AMR P204, and the creation of a realistic testing environment that mirrors the project’s industrial use cases.
